Richelle's Mario themed Baby Shower

So my brother Dennis, and sister-in-law Richelle, are having their first baby. A little background on the both of them, they both love video games and are what most people would call nerds. They love Star Trek, Star Wars, and of course Mario. So when they decided to make the Baby's nursery in Mario I knew we had our work cut out for us. There are very few 'baby' Mario items on the market. So after months of searching and creating and making things this is what we came up with. We are calling it 'Elegant Mario'. I wanted to keep with the Mario theme Richelle wanted but also wanted it to be Baby Showerish. I added a lot of blue and white with touches of the Primary Colors they are doing in the nursery. A custom handmade felt name banner served as the backdrop for the cake along with the adorable handmade cake topper. The food was themed to match the Mario game, and we had sweets on every table. We used their crib as the drop off location for the gifts. A basket full of Mario themed goodies, a Lakitu themed diaper cake, handmade Mario sheets and crib mobile, and a Mario door hanger and Mushroom topped it all off. We played two games, one a Mario poopy diaper game and a Yoshi egg game where guest could win a prize.
While the ladies were having fun inside, the gentlemen were out back BBQin' and having a Diaper Party. Richelle received lots of wonderful gifts from family and friends. All of us are excited to meet Baby Dennis IV when he arrives. I know this Nanny-to-be can't wait!
