A Korean tradition, this celebration marks the 100th day of life for a child. Known as the baek-il, the first 100 days is a very special time for parents and a newborn baby . It's a sacred time of nurturing for both the baby and mommy to ensure good health and longevity. Historically, the survival rates would drastically increase after the first 100 days. Family and friends gather together to give thanks and share in traditional ricecakes and other treats. Next up will be her 1st birthday/ dol!
