Party Recap

My little girl turned 4, and she's in love with all of the Disney Princesses. She loves dressing up and a princess party was a perfect theme for her

Idea

Party Highlights

  • Best Moment

seeing my little girls face when she walked in to see her very own castle (her daddy built it), and a world of princess just for her!

  • Best Dressed

everyone looked beautiful in their princess gowns, and my little one changed into dress after dress lol

  • Desserts

There was a lot of treats to choose from! The birthday cake was made by me, French vanilla cake with mocha filling. We had Ariel's dingle hoppers (chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and vanilla cupcakes with blue raspberry icing), Royal wand sugar cookies, Tiana's oreo frog princes, Belle ' chocolate rose lolipops, Jasmine 's rice crispy treat crowns and Snow White's poisoned candy apples! All made by me. The dessert table was definitely a hit with the kids and adults!

  • Party Favors

As we were on a tight budget, the favor bags, as well as almost all decorations were hand made by me. The bags held lip gloss, flower hair ties, candy and kaleidoscope, yoyo, etc

  • Activities / Games

We played pin the kiss on the frog, which i painted myself since i couldn't find it anywhere! We also played find snow White's poisoned apple, we hid green apples and one red apple around the house for the kids to find before snow white ate it! And we did story time on the magic carpet, I read a story while one of the moms put glitter on all the girls, and each child got a copy of the story book to take home :) each child also got to decorate their own crown and wand with jewels and stickers!

  • Budget

After the dessert and cake supplies and all the decoration materials we came in at about 300. We saved by using my daughters princess dresses and decorations we had from previous parties as well as borrowing princess dolls and accessories from friends and dollar store shopping

  • What People Ate

We went with simple and easy, pizza and antipasto salad, chips and assorted dips

  • What People Drank

Soda and lemonade for the grownups, for the Prince and princesses we served Ariel's Magic Potion ( pink lemonade) and Cinderella's Pink Punch (Strawberry Milk)

  • The cardboard castle was definitely the highlight of our party!

My husband built the castle from cardboard. The idea came from a mommy bloggers tutorial online. He built and painted it and I made banners for it. The kids played in it for hours and it was great to see their imagines run wild!

  • The birthday cake!

It was a proud moment for me! Iv e been making cakes for four years now and I'm never more excited to make a cake than when it's for my baby! She asked for a princess castle and that's what she got. I only wish I had had time to make the figures too, but I just couldn't make time with everything else that needed to be done. We used figures from the Disney store instead, and she was happy to get to play with them afterwards!

Thank you! I used textured scrap book paper, thin dowels and wooden ends from michaels. I rolled the dowels up in the paper ends tightly so that the dowels were covered and glued them, then glued the ends on to the dowels. I should add that I cut the paper in half to make them a bit smaller and cut the rods a bit longer on each end to fit the ends on. I would have printed the words on the paper but didn't have printer ink so I wrote them out with ink jet pens and markers. Then i added pretty details with stamps and tied with gold ribbon. It was definitely worth the effort and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole party :)
