Party Recap

I wanted to create a classic (but not too traditional) theme with the same colors as baby's nursery. I had lots of DIY elements which included:

- the ruffle backdrop for the photo booth
- the dessert table (linen is a ruffle bedskirt!)
- mini pennant banner
- pom centerpiece

and SO much more!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

curry lamb/chicken, egg rolls, party wings, jasmine rice, green beans, meatballs, pasta salad, macaroni and cheese, fruit and lots of sweets!

  • What People Drank

    pink lemonade!

  • Best Moment

When Mommy-to-be was so excited to play in the photobooth. She took so many pictures with every guest!

  • Funniest Moment

When daddy-to-be had to dance with the winners from a game. He had to Beyonce walk to the front then dance like he had a baby in his tummy. It was hilarious!

  • Most Touching Moment

We had a cute moment when I asked what D2B loved most about the pregnancy. He responded, "that I have the prettiest pregnant woman ever." M2B confirmed with a simple response, "I said me..." Awwwww!

  • Best Dressed

Mommy-to-be, of course. She was glowing!

  • Desserts

a full display of mini red velvet cupcakes, lemon and chocolate cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, vanilla and strawberry cake, red velvet cake pops, onesie cookies and much more!

  • Party Favors

I provided favor bags for the dessert display.

  • Activities / Games

Dancing Dilemma. Mom has to go out for a night on the town and requires a belly-appropriate dance. Once divided into teams, the groups took the "stage." Once a winner was chosen, the parents had to dance with the winners! Such a great icebreaker. Daddy Designs. We've all seen a little girl with her dad and thought, "awww, he must've {tried} to get her dressed or to comb her hair." We gave the guys an opportunity to design a onesie for baby. I had Chef Joy bake 1 dozen plain onesie sugar cookies. I gave the guys sprinkles and icing to (in my Tim Gunn voice) "make it work." When time was up, we turned on the music and they gave a fashion show of their designs.

  • Budget

I plead the 5th. Normally, I'm the mom who does everything herself. I outsourced a lot of the food and desserts to save my sanity. How can I put a price on that? Whew, question avoided, lol.
