Party Recap

My seven year old daughter loves the show, Gilligan's Island so it came as no surprise when she wanted it to be the theme to her birthday party. Luckily, we had the perfect yard for this theme.

To make the party extra special, we invited a very special guest. She loved that Sadie loved the show so she came out to join the celebration as a castaway on our little island. Sadie was speechless and overjoyed at the surprise. It was truly the best party ever.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

We served two tropical salads, island rice, fruit kabobs, teriyaki chicken, pork sandwiches, Maui chips, and fresh veggies.

  • What People Drank

We served coconut water, bottled water, mango juice and lemonade.

  • Desserts

We had a variety of desserts. Banana cream pies, coconut cookies, oyster cookies (vanilla wafer cookies with pick frosting and a jelly bean pearl), cupcakes for the guests and a candy buffet with themed candies for guests to pack up in a tiki themed box so they could keep enjoying the party treats later at home.

  • Party Favors

We had several favors. The children took home tiki boxes of goodies from the candy buffet. They also caught fun little toys from the pinata that included leis, she'll bracelets, Gilligan's rubber ducks, stickers, tattoos and sunglasses.

  • Activities / Games

For activies we had two photo booth areas. One with a water backdrop and the front of the S.S. Minnow with the ship's wheel . The other had Gilligan's bamboo car. The props were in suitcases and included items that represented the characters from the show like Ginger's feather boas, Mrs Howell's hat, pearls, parisol and fans of fake money. We had Mr Howell's teddy bear, the professor's radio, the skipper's captain's hat and Gilligan's bucket hat and of course faux banana cream pies. We also had prop bananas, coconuts and tiki masks for the guests to use in the pictures.
