Party Recap

My son has been obsessed with music since he was about 15 months old, so when I asked him what kind of party he wanted it wasn't a surprise that he answered "a music party!" A lot of the music themed party ware is tween-ish rock and roll, so at first I was stalled. Then, I saw this adorable groovy guitar fabric and a light went off! That also gave me the direction for the color scheme as well. Later, I found a drummer boy silhouette which I incorporated everywhere. I made almost all of the party decor and table decor myself. We made sure our guests knew what the party was all about from the get go with the invitations I designed. We also hired a local band teacher to come kick off the party by doing a marching band with the kids. Each of the food tables also carried out the theme. We had the "Drum Major's Dessert Buffet" which had the birthday cake, two cupcake towers, "orchestra oreos", "drum mallet marshmallow pops", and "bluesberry guitars". The drink table was labeled "Rockin' Refreshments" and further carried out the parties colors. Last, we had the "Percussion Popcorn Bar" with four different kinds of popcorn since it's my son's favorite snack. It was a blast and we love the way it turned out!
