Hi Julie, Aren't they great!! I actually made it. I bought the numbers unfinished at the Hobby Lobby. I drilled holes in the bottom, inserted a small dowel in each #, then painted and glittered them. Make sure you really dust off the excess glitter prior to placing the numbers on the cake. Hope this helps!

Can you tell me about the white "50" hanging on the wall? Where did you get them or what did you use to make them. Love this theme and am planning on using it for a party here. Thanks so much!

Hi Lori, I just cut the oversized '50' out of foam core. Super simple and inexpensive. I did the same thing for my husbands 50th, but I covered it in b&w xerox's of special photo's throughout his life. There's a photo of that version in that party listing. There are super simple and make a huge impact. Thanks.

What are these favors made of? Chocolate Bars wrapped in paper?

  • Stacy T

    Stacy T wrote:

Barbara M, Yes, they're Hershey's chocolate nugget bars, wrapped in coordinating scrapbook paper. On the bottom I also made a little tray for them to sit in that you may not be able to see. Super Easy!

Stacy, I bought the numbers today for the 50. I also bought Arcylic craft paint and some Elmers glitter glue. I'm not sure if the glitter glue is what I should be using. I painted the numbers and am letting them dry but would really like to know about the glitter. I was worried if I used regular glitter that when I put the numbers on the cake that glitter would get all over the top of it. I also went to Hobby Lobby to find the ribbon but they didn't have any in that design. What width did you use? I have someone making the cake and she thought the size of the cake looked like 10". All the detail I can get would be so appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Allison. I didn't use glitter glue. I used craft paint in lime green with a lime green or apple green glitter. I believe it was Martha Stewart brand. Ribbon I bought at Michaels, about 1-1/2 wide. NOW, listen, my cake was finished in super smooth buttercream. So when I pushed in the numbers, yes, a tiny bit of the glitter did come off onto the cake. But I just used a small paint brush and brushed it off. And I made sure when we took the numbers off, I blew off any add'l that fell off. Yes, I believe e the cake was 2 layer 10" cake. Good Luck!!

Where can I purchase this cake topper?

  • Stacy T

    Stacy T wrote:

Hi Armie... I made the topper. Couple ways we can solve this problem. 1. You can buy the numbers and paint them yourself -or-- 2. I can make them for you. =)

Hi Mary A, if you're asking about the party favors, I made a small paper trey that fit the candy perfectly and then I used a cello bag. If that's not what your asking about, please let me know, Thanks!
