"Showing the Love" Valentine's Family Dinner
ByParty Recap
Hi! I am The Pink Peach party stylist. Usually, I am styling events for clients, but this time it was a simple family dinner to "Show the Love" to Grandma and Grandpa. My youngest daughter helped me for a week each night to make the heart backdrop out of M&Ms. Most of the items were bought from the dollar store at Target or the Dollar Store to keep the dinner within a reasonable budget. I designed custom valentine place cards for each person that matched their personality. When Grandma and Grandpa arrived they had to guess which one they were and where they were sitting. Pa's favorite Kansas cucumber salad was made but the cucumbers were cut in special heart shapes this time. The shrimp was placed in a heart shape on the skewers and served along with jumbo scallops. Pasta and brown sugar glazed carrots were also served. As a special touch, Heart ice cubes were used with sparkling pear and grape juice. Homemade cheesecake was served as dessert, along with the desserts displayed on the table.

Funniest Moment
Each place setting was for a different person. I designed each one with their own personality in mind. Everyone had to guess which was theirs when Grandma and Grandpa arrived. My youngest is named Love, so hers was the "Lovebug" one. Grandpa is an Alumni Tennis Capt for UGA, therefore he was "Da Dawg". My oldest daughter loves music, so her's was the one with the music note that said "You Rock!". Mine was "One Cool Chick" and my husband's was with the candle that said "You Light My Fire". Grandma's had a sweet owl that said "You're a Hoot!".
