Party Recap

When your son loves investigating and everything science, what do you do to celebrate his birthday? Well have a science party of course, complete with science experiments.
The colour palette of green, orange and blue were chosen to represent slime and the favourite colours of the birthday boy. The backdrop was chosen as the hexagons represented molecules and atoms and this backdrop was continued to the favours table. Microscopes, test tubes, conical flasks and light bulb were scattered around the table to add atmospheric decoration. The drinks station had cordials and juices of the colour palette and were served in conical flasks to give the excitement of drinking scientific concoctions.
As the birthday boy is coeliac, all food served was chosen for it's gluten free ingredients. These included choc dipped marshmellows, 'oreo' pops, popcorn and jelly cups. The gorgeous and incredibly yummy cake, complete with a periodic table, was made by Sweets For My Sweet.
As the guests arrived, numerous microscopes were set up with slides for the children to look at but the greatest hit of the party was an array of science experiments which involved mixing, observing, getting messy and, of course, ‘blowing things up’! Guests also played a game of ‘pin the safety goggles on the scientist’ as well as a piñata which I made in the shape of a flask bubbling over.
Guests were given a favour bag to thank them for coming. Inside included a booklet I made of science experiments we conducted at the party as well as some more to try at home. There were also tubes of blue and green choc drops with the tubes intended to represent test tubes. Guests were also invited to ladle additional lollies into their bags.
The birthday boy declared it an awesome party with one guest heard to say it was “The best party EVA”!
