Party Recap...
I pretty much knew from the minute our little cupcake was born that her first birthday was going to be a cupcake theme. She was so tiny and sweet, she was the perfect little cupcake. After spending 9 years planning boy parties I was so excited to be able to put together a party that was ALL girl!
I designed and created everything including the invitation, welcome sign, food tents, drink labels, Wishes for the birthday girl, banners, etc... I started early and purchased cupcake items for months.
The faux hanging cupcakes were a DIY project I came up with because I had a vision of little cupcakes hanging from the windows.
The swags above the windows was a pink sheet I ripped down the middle and altered to look like bubble curtains. No sewing at all involved!
I really like the way the chair toppers came out and added to the Sweet Shoppe feel.
All of the food was made by me including the five different flavor cupcakes. You have to serve a selection of cupcakes at a cupcake party right?! The Key Lime ones were gone instantly with Salted Caramel following closely behind!
The photobooth type set up we had in the backyard was really fun and I'm so glad I did it. My husband made the chalkboards for me and the backdrop was a pink flat sheet we hung up along one of the back walls. I really didn't want to go with mustaches and lips because they didn't go with the theme at all so I had a pink mixing bowl, cupcake shaped measuring cups and spoons, a cupcake shaped spatula, white baker's hat, pink princess sunglasses, aprons, and bunny ears with a tiara. The pictures were great!
In the house I had pink and turquoise balloons and little cupcake items around and outside I had pink and white pom poms hanging in the big tree. I didn't do a whole lot of decorating in the backyard and really liked the simple decorations.
I loved planning this party for my little one and hope you enjoy it too. I will be posting recipes on my blog this week and next. If you need some ideas please send me an email, I'd love to hear from you.
