Summer is Sweet

I put on a 'Summer is Sweet' afternoon tea for my birthday celebrations on the weekend and it was a sea of pink, pink and more pink!

The main cake table featured watermelon table linen with a splash of pink chiffon and gold ribbon, together with white porcelain cake stands. Tissue paper pom pom's and paper lanterns hung from the ceiling with gold and pink ribbons.

The aim was to create a space that had bright bursts of colour, was light and airy and had a sense of playfulness about it.

The candy buffet and favour table followed suit with the added fun of a cupcake ferris wheel and treat bags for the guests to take home.

Guests had fun serving themselves from the gorgeous apothecary drink dispenser and vintage mini milk bottles.

As we have limited space in our home, I had fun creating the separate stations and it was nice to have the theme carried throughout different rooms. It was a lovely afternoon that I could share with family and friends and indulge in a sweet treat or two. Or five :)
