Party Recap

I had soooo much fun styling and designing this Superhero themed birthday party for my 3 little boys, Austin, Braxton and Carter! They all have birthdays within a month so one big party to celebrate them all was perfect!
They absolutely love anything and everything related to superheros so I went to work with making an unforgettable and fun filled party for them!

Let's start with the invitation! I decided to go with a newspaper style invite. The newspaper headline read "Calling All Superheros" and the text explained that three Superheros had upcoming birthdays. Heather of Heather Nelson Design created this invitation which included a "You're Invited" tag. I printed the invites in Reccolaction brand cardstock found at Michaels.
I folded and wrapped red and white twine around each invite and attached the "You're invited" tags. I then placed each invite in a white envelope with custom labeling.

Dessert Table
I served 3 cakes, one for each birthday boy who were turning 1, 3 and 6; gum balls, custom cookies, glazed donuts, chocolate/carmel apples from, multi colored Oreo tower and cupcakes!
I dressed the table with light grey linen from Linen Tablecloth and hung a black "Happy Birthday" banner. The backdrop included 3 of my boys favorite superheros, Iron Man, Hulk and Spiderman. The backdrop was designed by Heather Nelson Design.
I used all black cake stands and platters which were purchased from World Market.

Ice Cream shoppe
This is my absolute favorite part of the whole party! The guest loved it! It was the first time my one year old tried ice cream and he thought it was the best thing ever!
The ice cream bar included Joy brand waffle ice cream cones which I dipped and bright white Wilton Candy melts. I then used Wilton sprinkles to decorate each cone. Each cone represented a superhero.
The cones were placed on white cake stands which were purchased from Home Goods.
The toppings included m&ms, gummy bears, Reece's, chocolate chips, cherries, peanuts, Oreos, rainbow sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, Carmel, and strawberry topping.
I provided chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream for the guest to select from.
The cute little polka dot cups purchased from Hobby Lobby were dressed with superhero labels that matched the dessert table backdrop and a mini silver dessert spoon.
My super last minute add on was the 3 Sundae decorated cupcakes. I found those beauties at the local grocery store. (Score!)
My husband and I made the backdrop/tabletop awning using wood from Home Depot and Fabric from Hobby Lobby. I purchased the linen from Linen Tablecloth and dress it with a DIY tassel banner. The 20x30 hanging sign was designed by Heather Nelson Design and printed at Walgreens. I hung the sign by using plastic chains that I spray painted silver. Chains found at Home Depot.

Newsstand
A superhero party has to have a newsstand right!?! I thought so! I also wanted to bring in aspects of the newspaper style invite.
I created a simple newsstand for some of the party favors to be displayed on. It included coloring books with custom covers, chocolate candy bars with labels that matches the backdrop, flavored popcorn and striped popcorn boxes, superhero crayon packs, candy, Jones soda with personalized labels, superhero puzzle tins, and bottled water.
The bottom portion of the stand is actually a old diaper changing table! (Upcycle Win!)
My husband and I just painted it and made the awning to match the Ice Cream stand.

Tablescape
I love love love these "Paint Your Own Cookies" by Creeative Cookies by Ree. They were the perfect activity for the guest to do while everyone was arriving. I put each cookies in a clear box purchased from Clear Bags and attached a black "paint your own superhero cookie" label. I also provided a paint brush and little container of water.
As one of the party favors, we gave out personalized tumblers. The clear tumblers were ordered in bulk from the Dollar tree and I used my Cricut to cut the guest names out in vinyl.
I used light grey linen purchased from Linen Tablecloth. I rented black resin chairs from Allies Party Rentals. The centerpiece was really simply. I used a piece of wood, painted it black and I stood superheroes along the top. Hulk was excellent at hold the balloons!
