The Summer Games

The Summer Games was a fantastically fun backyard games themed party for a sweet girl named Summer! It was non-stop fun for a group of adorable and active eight year olds.

Upon arrival the girls picked their team out of a pail, either pink, yellow, blue or green. They were then given a uniform (or t-shirt!) which they were able to decorate with fabric markers. Then came the team photos, once the shirts were full of signatures and drawings (which they took more seriously than you might expect!,) the games began!

The girls competed in the frisbee throw, a beach dress up relay race, pool noodle toss, balloon stomp and lap swim. All the scores were tallied and the medals, or sunglasses, handed out. Based on their ranking (gold, silver, bronze and "had the most fun") they picked out their glasses. The "had the most fun" group did not seem to mind that the sunglasses choice was limited!

Then the girls dined on pizza and a gorgeous cake by Cakewish. They left the party with the t-shirt, sunglasses and adorable flipflop lollypops by Candied Cakes.

This was one of the most fun parties I have ever had the pleasure of doing! Summer and her family were a pleasure to work with, which was wonderful, however the main reason I loved this party so much is that all the girls had a blast. In the end, that is exactly what it is all about!
