Party Recap...
When he told me he wanted the "Totally Gross" theme from the Birthday Express catalog, I didn't know what I was going to do! But I started thinking and came up with some great stuff.
I ordered several things from the site, including a toilet centerpiece & "barf bag" goody bags. His birthday being a month before Halloween worked out great. I was able to find plenty of snakes, bugs, spiders & body party candy. I filled the toilet bowl of the centerpiece with gummies. I made the invitations using Word. I forgot a photo, but I found some tiny spiders that I washed & froze into the ice cubes. The kids loved it!
I made a paper mache nose for them to "pick". Inside was rubber snakes. The slime inside was made from Metamucil & water. Then I made cornstarch & water slime. The idea was for them to dig for rubber balls, but the balls floated. So we tried blindfolding them. It wasnt long before it turned into a slime fight! But with the hundreds of water balloons we filled & the water guns, they cleaned up easy.
I made a jello brain (just for looks) and a slime cake. The cake was made using a bunting pan. I used canned frosting, microwaved until it was somewhat runny. I went around the cake pouring frosting & adding gummy body parts. I covered the white cake plates with some cheese cloth I found in the Halloween decor.
Needless to say, I used a lot of green dye for this party! Blogged here:
