Party Recap

I am about to have my second baby and my first baby boy, so a baby sprinkle was in order! Turquoise is my favourite colour (I even have a whole blog about it!), so we had to have an elegant turquoise baby sprinkle.

We had this shower when I was 35 weeks pregnant at our house. It was a really nice little party, especially so because a few friends attended that we hadn't seen in years.

The theme was simple: just turquoise and doughnuts! I made really elegant invitations with a blue and turquoise geode agate theme. I decorated the mantel with artificial blue and turquoise flowers, some vines and leftover ivy from my Comic Con Poison Ivy costume. I also baked some delicious sugar cookies and decorated them with sweet cream cheese icing. The rest of the food was very simple, with doughnuts the highlight of the dessert table! Follow the link to my blog below to get more details and instructions!

The piece de resistance was a DIY doughnut hole tower. Didn't it look spectacular?! So simple, so delicious! Click here to go to the tutorial:

We played a few games, ate tonnes of food, and enjoyed all the kids playing with my little 18 month old Baby J. It was a really lovely party and I'm so grateful to be blessed with such sweet and kind friends!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Doughnuts, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, soft homemade sugar cookies, Chicago Mix Popcorn, Fruit and Veggies, a delectable and luxurious cheese tray...and wine (sparkling water for me!).

  • Desserts

Oh yes, it was mostly dessert...those doughnuts did not last long! The doughnut hole tower was the highlight of the dessert table--there's a tutorial on my blog if you want to make one for yourself!

  • Party Favors

My husband spray painted the lids of some small mason jars turquoise that I had glued little army soldiers to, so cute! We filled them to the brim with blue candies, yummy!

  • Activities / Games

We played my favourite baby shower game. You take celebrity face parts (eyes, nose, mouth) and combine them together to make a Frankenbaby...then everyone guesses who the body parts belong to!
