Turtles, Snails, and Alligator Tails are what little boys are made of. And what a fitting theme for my best friend's baby shower since she was welcoming her THIRD son into the world.
Anna, my friend, is a girly girl (have you noticed that mom’s of boys are usually girly?) and the plan is that this is her last baby. With these things in mind I wanted things to still be feminine for her. The bright accent colors that I used were a golden yellow and bright oranges. From yellow tulips, to silvery pewter serving pieces and frames, to the graphic linens and wonderful ladylike brunch food the girly details were elegantly covered.
The geometric pattern that I used throughout the theme was actually inspired by a pattern I saw on an upolstered chair in a magazine. Not only did it work perfectly, but added a modern touch.
My decorating sytle is usually bold in color, simple, as well as modern with a twist of the traditional. I am pretty classic in my tastes, but I love the uses of bold color and modern elements with a timeless look. I tried to marry that here.
For the favor boxes, I found the die cuts on sillouette.com. Any crafting paper could be used. I strongly suggest using a decent weight cardstock so that the boxes will hold up and fold properly.
