My daughter, Isabella, is obsessed with dolphins and ocean animals. Being landlocked in Houston meant that dolphins would be at least a 3 hour drive away. We were excited to find out that The Fish Gallery, a local aquarium store, offered birthday parties at their location. It made having an underwater bash to celebrate her fourth birthday quite possible.
I chose a mermaid and ocean animals as a theme and designed the invitations and the coordinating paper goods. Isabella loves aqua and pink and these became the party theme colors!
We hired Suzzala, a friend and local clown celebrity to entertain our party guests. She was happy to make the children balloon animals and hand paintings! The Fish Gallery provided a fish feeding demonstration at their massive tank and set up touch tanks for the children to touch starfish and sea urchins. After all these fun activities, the children had lunch catered by one of Isabella's favorites, Chick-Fil-A. Once the candles were blown out, the kids and grownups enjoyed vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese icing. The cupcakes toppers, custom created by Two Sugar Babies, matched all the paper products. A custom mermaid cake topper was also created for the party however, weather delays prevented it from arriving in time! It is pretty fabulous and is saved in our fridge for another event!
Before heading out, the guests were gifted favor bags they filled with candy from Isabella's Sea of Sweets and an inflatable dolphin for some water fun!
