Party Recap
We chose to go with a vintage Carnival theme as my husband has a large Italian family and with my family and our friends with children of various ages, there’s a little something for everyone. The vintage carnival aspect was inspired by the adorable popcorn bags I found at Michael’s craft stores and we ran with it!
Party Highlights
-
What People Ate
We decided to go with foods and snacks you’d find at a Carnival: mini hotdogs and hamburgers from Cotto Catering, popcorn, cotton candy with some healthy veggies and dip made by me for balance ;-)
-
What People Drank
Old fashioned Pop Shoppe Soda from Glenburn Dairy along
-
Desserts
Of course there was also the candy buffet with delectable treats from Sticky’s Candy Shop for the kids to add whatever their hearts desired to their gift bags.
-
Party Favors
We chose to forgo traditional gift bags of toys and games and instead had amazingly adorable decorated cookies by the talented Julie Moore of The Whisk as a takeaway thank you gift. She created absolutely perfect cookies in our color theme that read Mattias turns 2.
-
Activities / Games
Thunderbird Community Center in Vancouver, BC was the perfect location for the party. They have a great space with a gym they set up with bouncy castles, balloon makers and face painters to keep the kids occupied and worked so well with the carnival theme. The space also provided for a safe area to set up the monogrammed M piñata made by the talented Swank Social.
