Party Recap

Spring has sprung! And with it comes blossoms, and outdoor festivities.
We love to celebrate Easter outdoors, amongst lush greenery, and the sweet sound of birds chirping their happy song!
I love the feel of vintage parties. The colors are always rich & welcoming. I wanted to capture those two elements in our Vintage Easter party. My children love to be outside, so I created this little celebration for them.
I incorporated burlap, ribbon, and sweet printables. I also brought in some natural elements such as moss, and bird nests. Setting it up outdoors made for a sweet celebration.

I adore the sweet printables that Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine created for me. I couldn’t wait to attach them to just about everything! Circle tags, flags, a banner, and sweet vintage rabbit & cabbage images were perfect for the look I was going for.

I wanted greens, and rich brown tones throughout the party. The kraft paper fry boxes were embellished with a vintage rabbit image, along with a touch of moss. I filled them with store bought Little Debbie snacks. The kraft paper boxes included moss, and a sweet printable tag that was scalloped punched, and attached with ribbon. These would serve as a favor box for the guests to fill with sweet treats.

The pretty cake stands held all the delicious treats. The cupcakes were set inside of mini nests for an added touch of whimsy. The sweet bunny apples, and egg & bunny cookies looked adorable at our table. I created a faux cake to sit front & center of our Easter table. I made the cake by stacking 2 wreath shaped styrofoam pieces, and then wrapped them with kraft paper. I then added moss around the top, to hide the paper seam. I inserted two kabob skewers, and then embellished with circle tags that were attached to twine.
I painted my old fashioned bubble gum machine in a rich brown color from Rustoleum, and filled the machine with moss, and green & white plastic eggs.

I purchased a couple yards of pale green burlap from Walmart. This was used as our table cover, and helped display our table setting perfectly! The party guests sipped chocolate milk from plastic milk bottles that were tied with ribbon, and a vintage rabbit tag. Small cabbage leaf plates were set on top of grapevine wreaths, and topped with mini burlap bags that held kid-sized bamboo forks. Above the table, I attached our Easter banner to dowels, and finished it off with twine & burlap ribbon.

Another fun element to our Vintage Easter party, was the seating. I wanted to find a quick solution to seat my little guests, without spending a lot of money. I purchased a couple of car wash buckets from Dollar Tree. Because they were black in color, I spray painted them with the same Rustoleum paint as my bubble gum machine. Once they dried, I added a burlap sash, and tied it around the bucket. I attached a small circle tag banner, and added twigs from my backyard. They turned out just as I had hoped. I’ve used this idea before, for other parties, and it has always worked out nicely!
