Thanks. I made the cake by baking two round cakes one 10" and the second 8". Bottom one I left as it came out of the pan as the base. To sculpt the nose I cut the second cake to about 4/5 inch circle and with the cutoffs mixed with some frosting I sculpted the fins and filled in the nose area to smooth down towards the base. Then covered the whole thing first in caramel and then buttercream frosting. I tried putting fondant over all that but that didn't worked out as planned so I just tried to smooth the frostig best I could. I still used white fondant for the eyes and mouth and the black outlIne really brought it all together and made it more illustrative. Regards Elle
