About Modus and Vivendi

I have loved crafting for as long as I can remember, with especially fond memories of working on projects with my mom as a little girl. In middle and high school my creative interest was mainly in rubber stamping, card making and calligraphy. In college I worked for a very large national craft store, which opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. I began to learn about the tiny and seemingly inconsequential details that go into creating a professionally finished piece of jewelry. Armed with this knowledge and my store discount, I went to town learning by trying. As the finished pieces started to stack up, my sister suggested I try selling some items. My work has evolved over the years from my first dabble into the world of Etsy, so I recently decided to overhaul my business, and Modus and Vivendi came to be.

When thinking about what I wanted this new venture to be, I realized I wanted to share more than just jewelry. I have spent the last year out of the traditional work force and have learned a lot about keeping a house, design and other artistic and creative outlets besides just jewelry. I wanted to be able to showcase parts of my life and style. When researching the word lifestyle, I ran across the latin term for lifestyle or way of living: Modus Vivendi. I thought this was the perfect name for this shop, and I can't wait to share some pieces of my lifestyle with you!
