Sarah Williams wrote a lovely poem called The Old Astronomer to His Pupil in the early 1900's and this lovely embroidery brings to life the last few lines.

The embroidery is done by hand with natural colored linen embroidery floss onto cotton navy fabric. The stars are a mix of stitches and vintage mother of pearl buttons.

WHAT YOU GET:

WHAT YOU NEED :: all the supplies you need can easily be found at any local craft store ::
~ embroidery needles
~ an embroidery hoop for stitching
~ scissors
~ linen embroidery floss (specific color suggestions are noted in the pattern directions)
~ fabric for stitching
~ carbon tracing paper (I recommend Sublime Stitching brand)

PATTERN DETAILS:
~ the finished embroidery fits in a 10-12 inch embroidery hoop
~ directions for finishing in a hoop are included with the pattern

STITCH LEVEL:
~ this is an excellent pattern for BEGINNERS on up.
