Hi, there! Thanks for visiting! I’m Heidi Melissa, the founder of The Art in Party Planning. Even the spelling of the word pARTy attests to the fact that there is indeed an art to planning the perfect party. By ‘perfect’ I mean attainable perfect – a fun atmosphere, good food & drink and an element of creativity – not every rose petal in its place.

My love of planning parties goes back to my college days and has since evolved into adult dinner parties and kid’s birthday celebrations. I will jump at almost any chance to host a shower or plan an event. To me the word party expands beyond the traditional birthday parties and showers into events – a tailgate, vacation or even a family movie night. I’m always searching for the element that transforms a moment into a memory. There is a lot of love and a touch of fancy in everything I do.
