Party Recap

Our little girl is a monkey, she climbs everywhere and one of her favorite first stuffed animals was a monkey. We had a pink and green monkey party complete with a two tiered monkey cake, chocolate monkey suckers, monkey cupcakes, and monkey cookies. It was the perfect party for a little climbing monkey girl!

Love this theme!! I am going to do this for my twin girls 2nd b-day in October. I say the same thing... They are my monkeys :) I wanted to know if that monkey on top of the cake is fondant? If not, where did you get it? Also I wanted to know where you got that monkey with the big eyes and the party favor bags? You did a fantastic job!!!

Thank you! The monkey on the top of the cake is made out of fondant, I did it a few days ahead of time and put it on a lollipop stick so when it was dry, I just stuck it right on the cake! :) I got the monkey that was on the food table at target on clearance after valentine's day, it was actually a valentine holder that cost like a buck, so I thought it was a cute decoration. The hanging monkeys on the palm tree were from the Dollar Tree and the favor boxes were from Party City! We would have had more decorations, but it was pouring that day so everything had to be under the covering on the patio or under the tents! Have fun with your party!! :)

It's just a round cake covered in buttercream and topped with fondant. I shaped the monkey out of fondant (it's kind of like play dough) and stuck a lollipop stick through it And let it dry. I also have letter cutters I ordered on amazon to cut out the letters of her name. Then I cut out the dots out of pink and green fondant and attached them to the cake. You can learn all about fondant on YouTube, that's how I got started! The stand is from the cupcake tower website online (just google the cupcake tower)! Hope that helps. Her third bday is coming up, it's Mickey Mouse clubhouse themed!!
