Party Recap

A 50's themed surprise party I designed for my mother. I had a caricature of my mom made up to resemble the drive-in from the movie “American Graffiti” but in our party colors of pink, aqua, turquoise, black, and red. It stood at the escort card, and later, favor table. The place cards were old 45′s with a label we custom designed. The tables were named after my mother’s favorite songs from the 50′s. We served typical drive-in and diner style food at the party starting off with appetizers (aka “The Temptations”), main dishes (“The Platters”) including fried chicken, meatloaf, turkey, and mashed potatoes, fun foods with kids young and old (“The Little Be-Boppers”) including grilled cheese, french fries, onion rings, and mac & cheese, and finally ended with cake, make-your-own sundaes and milk shakes (“Happy Endings”). Our favors were chocolate lollipops in the shape of records and each guest took home the glass Coca Cola glasses that doubled as their milkshake glasses for the evening. There were hula hoops, twisting contests, lots of dancing, laughs, and certainly many memories!

Hi Dena, I created the signs - they are part of my soda shoppe collection. The lollipops were from seller no longer on Etsy. Danielle
