Details: At the end of the party each guest was able to fill a paint can that was purchased from Michaels with their favorite candy. Along with the candy, each guest took home a Color Comic Bag by Alex that was purchased on clearance at Borders. In the bag each guest received watercolors, colored pencils, and drawing pad that I picked up at Target. Activities: The girls got creative by first decorating a pet rock. I used a couple sets of Deluxe Rock-a-Doodle by Creativity for Kids. Then the girls were each given a large 18 x 24 canvas to create a masterpiece of their choosing. I purchased the canvas at a local craft store – Beverly’s for $5.00 each. We already had the oil pastels that the girls used for their canvas. Upon completing their masterpiece they were hung on picture hangers that I had pre hung before the party to create a special art gallery for the parents to see at party end. The last craft was a Clothespin Doll – the tutorial came from GoingsewCrazy.typepad.com. I precut the fabric circles that they used to create the dress. I used the same tutorial to create a special cake topper for Brooke and found a crayon button for the doll to hold from Michael’s. Favors: At the end of the party each guest was able to fill a paint can that was purchased from Michaels with their favorite candy. Along with the candy, each guest took home a Color Comic Bag by Alex that was purchased on clearance at Borders. In the bag each guest received watercolors, colored pencils, and drawing pad that I picked up at Target. Cake: The cake was made using the tutorial by omnomicon and I found it on Hostess with the Mostess Blog. I baked each layer separate and kept secret from Brooke what was special about the cake. She loved the surprise when she cut into her cake. I cut decorative scrapbook paper and a scallop punch to make the cake banner garland.
