Artcher's Dinosaur 1st Birthday Party

We decided to throw a dinosaur themed party for my youngest son and have it at our favorite park. Artchie has a special dinosaur stuffed animal he loves to snuggle with and learned to make "ROAR" sounds like his big brother when playing with their dinosaur toys. It was an easy choice to make dinosaurs the running theme for his special first birthday.

• What People Ate

  turkey wraps, PB&J, fruit kabobs, veggies, popcorn and Pirates Booty, homemade cupcakes and cookies

• What People Drank

  chocolate milk and fruit juice boxes for the kids, organic fruit flavored sparkling water for adults and a vodka lemonade. Bottled waters.

• Best Moment

  Singing Artchie "Happy Birthday" and watching him destroy his birthday cake.

• Funniest Moment

  The children were either fascinated or horrified by "Cota" the dinosaur. Everyone had a good laugh when my older son started screaming during "Happy Birthday". For some reason he is not a fan of that song!

• Most Touching Moment

  Every time Artchie smiled and hugged someone. He was such a happy birthday boy.

• Desserts

  Homemade cupcakes and sugar cookies. Homemade smash cake for the birthday boy.

• Party Favors

  DIY gift bags with DIY tags. Inside each bag was a dinosaur coloring and activity book, crayons in a personalized crayon box and a dinosaur lollipop.

• Activities / Games

  A coloring and arts and crafts table with a dinosaur sticker scene and a 3-D cardboard dinosaur to color. I made wood dinosaur shapes and painted them with chalk board paint for each child to color on and take home. The younger children and babies were wrestling the plastic dinosaurs and they all enjoyed climbing and playing on the jungle gym etc. at the park. We had "Cota" a mechanical dinosaur for the children to sit on and play with.
