Party Recap

In July, we moved into our new 5 Acre Property in the urban countryside. There were so many places to have the twins party but none seemed better than right here, at our home. One night I was reading to the girls a story of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by May Gibbs. It follows the adventures of two gumnut babies in the Australian Bush. From this story and idea formed…lets have a Gumnut Baby Party!

INVITATIONS
I began by contacting Louise from The Little Humbugs to create an Invitation for the Party theme. Louise came up with two beautiful designs and we chose the one that looked to be closest to what we would be creating on the day {although I loved both equally!} Louise then created the food labels, chocolate bar wrappers, drink dispenser labels and the labels on the drink bottles. Everything was perfect!

PARTY DECOR
I placed a call out for any small business owners that wanted to collaborate on the party and received so many emails I was overwhelmed! I called in Louisa from The Little Big Company to help me ‘party plan’ and she did an amazing job sourcing products and helping email everyone so that we all came together on the day.

From this collaboration, I received the beautiful Tablecloth that was designed to blend into the natural scene and did so perfectly. Sura from Red Plum even tea stained the lace herself! I also received the tassels on the swing that the twins were photographed on, by Dandy & Darling.

All the floral arrangements like the stunning David Austin Posies on the table, the Willow Chandelier and the twins floral head pieces were made by the very talented Virginia from The Bouquets Of Ascha Jolie. She entwined gum leaves with Gum Nuts and smelt amazing!

The favours were small pots of locally sourced Raw Eucalyptus Honey, with a fabric flower pom on the lid made by Dunne with Style.

We had a drinks table set up with Cardboard Drinks Dispensers from Garnish, one with Water and the other with Home Made Lemonade. The small drink bottles also from Garnish were the perfect size for the little ones to hold and they loved sipping out of the birch paper straws!

DESSERT TABLE
My brilliant sister in law Lauren from LOve Cakes designed the cake and did such a great job! I loved the wooden plaque that had the twins initials on it and the green raw cotton ribbon matched the event perfectly! I had sourced the two toppers from Etsy and they looked so cute on top of the two tiered cake!

Louisa worked with vendors to finalise the sweets on the table, and I loved the Acorn Macarons, the Girl Silhouette Cookies holding the Balloons, the Cupcakes with the small toffee acorns on top and the delicious Lamington Rocky Road! Yum!

We had a lovely day celebrating the twins 3rd Birthday and wanted to also thank Poppy and Rose for making the beautiful Willow coloured Tutu’s that the girls loved! The pictures were taken by my good friend and very talented photographer, Liat from Lee Bird Photography. She always captures the moment and the girls respond so well to her. Thank you Liat!
