Birch Trees & Birdies Winter Wonderland

Being our first winter as a family living in New England, I knew I wanted a birthday party that helped my children embrace all of the wonder that comes with a snow fall and be able to celebrate the kick-off our first chilly season with our family and friends! My inspiration when planning was my love of birch trees, and my daughter’s love of birds! Together, the two themes created a very dreamy Winter Wonderland for guests! The seasonal comfort-foods served up to party-goers include a mashed potato bar, creamy tomato soup with grilled cheese, bacon, and rosemary triangles, cranberry smothered brie, antipasti wreaths, powdered donuts, cookies, cake, a hot cocoa bar and egg nog! The kids had the most fun playing both a “Snowball Toss” game and a “Snowball Balance” game where wintry prizes were up for grabs! At the end of the party, each family brought home a silver bell to hang on a doorknob – if their house was quiet, just like a forest of birch trees after a snowfall, they would hear the bells ring in their very own home!

  - Mashed potatoes topped with their choice toppings from the Mashed Potato Bar - "Cardinal Cups" of tomato soup and macaroni with grilled swiss, bacon & rosemary triangles - Wreaths of rosemary topped with "ornaments" of cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and olives - Brie Cheese with sugared cranberry sauce and sea salt crackers - "Snowballs" powdered donuts
