Party Recap

This butterfly birthday party was inspired by my daughter's love of bugs. I could have made it creepy but I wanted to make it pretty. (selfish, I know) hehehe.
I had a butterfly punch to start. I checked out Michaels and just loved the designs in a pack of scrapbook paper and thought that I would use that as my palate. I punched and punched until I filled the room with hanging butterflies, circles and tissue paper pom pom balls.
My favorite part was the dessert table. I bought flowerpots and baked cookies on sticks then stuck the sticks into styrofoam and covered it with crushed up Oreo's. Then I dipped strawberries in chocolate and "planted" the strawberries so the kids could pick them out of our make-shift flower garden. My mom made the amazing chocolate butterflies that are on top of the cupcakes. I made the popcorn cones that sit in a bed of marshmallows and dipped pretzel sticks.

I also made a picture tree with pics of my daughter throughout her 5 years. I used the same scrapbook paper as the backing to the pics.
