Party Recap

This was a crafting party that I had in my home for a few of my friends. I wanted to keep it a cozy environment with a rustic touch, so I went with burlap and doilies (white and natural) as the decor theme. I created a hot chocolate bar that included sweets for the guests. Each guest took home their own hot chocolate mugs which I had glass etched with the words "Hot Chocolate" with the help of a friend (a guest as well). Each glass mug held it's own homemade hot chocolate on a stick. Condiments included marshmallows, crushed peppermint, crushed graham crackers, and cinnamon sticks. To keep it in the theme of rustic, instead of paper labels, I stamped all the wood serving utensils (as well as the cocoa sticks) with the name of the item it was serving. I included natural elements of tree stumps and wood. When I think rustic, I think of mason jars as well, so those were included as serving vessels. I made dessert stands out of crates for which French macarons and coconut macarons were served on. Some of the treats were served in white planters that looked like doilies. The "Nibbling Necessities" (plates, "doily" napkins & "Eat Cake" wooden forks) were placed inside an open drawer of a small console table. Water bottles with "doily" labels were served on a 3-step wood stool. Take home treats bags were made from brown lunch bags and embelished with doilies and clothes pins. A carry all kraft paper bag was provided and included a "Thank you" tag. For the craft, each guest made two wood coasters that were Mod Podged with stamped "doily" squares (that I had precut for each guest). I provided "old times" stamps for the guests to choose from. Once complete, lace was provided for each guest to tie their coasters together.
