Party Recap

Choosing a theme for my son's 4th birthday was easy as he loves animals. We had a Safari themed party with everything an animal loving little boy could imagine. I hired a local vendor who provides exotic animals to come in and bring snakes, crocodile, turtles, lizards and other amazing creatures. Everything else including decor, the cake, candy table and party favours...I did myself! Lots of work but completely worth it for my little guy!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Each child received a Rations box for lunch. They got to mark off their choices of hot dogs, chicken strips, crinkle fries, smiley fries and macaroni salad. Popcorn and veggie sticks in cute nut cups placed in a leaf bowl were on the tables for snacking. The parents had subs and veggies.

  • What People Drank

Jungle punch, water and drinking boxes for the kids. Beer, wines and juices for the adults.

  • Best Moment

Darius' face when he saw the crocodile and all the animals! He was so excited! He also loved the cake I made him and couldn't wait to bite the head off the crocodile!

  • Funniest Moment

When Darius asked the animal keeper where the hippo was? Hippos are his favourite and he hoped they would bring one...not sure how but he just had to ask.

  • Most Touching Moment

My son telling me that I'm the best mommy ever for throwing him the best party ever!

  • Best Dressed

Darius of course but all the kids looked great in their shirts I made for them and all their safari gear.

  • Desserts

Zebra marble cake made by me. Homemade cotton candy demo for the kids. Cupcakes and candy bar.

  • Party Favors

I made personalized t shirts with matching canvas backpacks for each child. They also received a pith helmet and binoculars at their place setting. Inside the bags were stickers, colouring and sticker books, a water bottle, animal puzzles, pencils, pencil case, stampers, homemade animal shaped crayons in a cute pail, handmade animal shaped soaps, a tube of animal figures and various other toys depending on the age of the child. Each child also took home a Safari Treats bag filled with Candy. They received tattoos and post cards from the Creature Quest animal show.

  • Activities / Games

Creature Quest animal show entertained the kids with an array of animals for an hour. We had a small python, cayman crocodile, chinchilla, ferret, lizard, bunny, turtle, giant tortoise, armadillo and hedgehog.

  • Budget

    $2000
