Selected as Party of the Day on August 18th!
Dump everything...it’s Ollie’s stinkin birthday!
ByParty Recap
My son Ollie repeatedly asked for a garbage truck birthday party for his 3rd birthday. Weeks prior to the party, we saved all recyclables and “trash” items...water bottles, boxes, jugs, cans, etc for the party decor. I assembled a backdrop made out of newspaper and attached it to my wall. I made a stunning balloon garland to add to the dessert table. The kiddos enjoyed garbage truck cookies from Dulci’s Cookies, dirt pudding cups, wiggly worms and a 6 layer vanilla cake dripping with chocolate ganache that I made. For the gifts banner, I strung cans, jugs and boxes on a fishing line. For food, we served up cruddy chicken nuggets, waste weenies and pee-yew potatoes for the kids. The adult enjoyed a spread of pad Thai noodles, Asian fried chicken, sticky rice and egg rolls. For beverages, we had Junkyard juice, waste water and iced green Thai tea. The kids had an absolute blast digging for prizes in the dumpster dive, knocking down tin cans and tossing trash. Party favors were packaged in black trash bags and wire mesh pencil cup holders that resembled wastebaskets.
