Party Recap
My daughter loves the woods, animals and magical creatures. We decided to celebrate her 8th birthday with a Woodland Tea. We cleared a little patch in our woods and set things up outside. We used an old pie safe, our kids party table and we strung a wire between two trees to hang the grapevine chandelier I made. It was decorated with flowers made from paper doilies. I fell in love with a vintage clip art (from the Graphics Fairy website) of a little gnome and woodland animals which we used for our party printables and invitation. I made two (very amateur!) mushroom shaped cakes by baking cake batter in pyrex mixing bowls. My sister (the professional baker!) made a wonderful gluten free cake with a fondant gnome and fox for our g-free guests. Crafts were a big hit and the girls spent a lot of time working on their fairy house creations. We had a wonderful time with our good friends and were blessed with perfect weather. All our little gnomes had a wonderful time.
