Party Recap

Turning 35 felt like a fun milestone to me, so I wanted to invite some of my closest girlfriends for a fun, girly soiree. When I started brainstorming a theme and color palette, I kept returning to citrus vibes (think orange, peach, light pink). I knew I wanted the day to feel like a fun, girly event my friends could attend, so I thought about bringing my two inspirations together. Girly, meet your new friend Citrus!

Due to friends' busy schedules, the day was a small gathering, but I knew I wanted to ensure I got all the fun details, even for a small group. I am thrilled with how it all turned out.

For the tablescape:

I had so much fun arranging these gorgeous faux flowers. Even in person, people had a hard time believing they weren’t fresh flowers. I sourced silk flowers from Michaels.com, and they truly were perfect. I wanted a very specific color story and whimsical vibe to the flowers and figured, why not give faux a try? I think they were a success—what do you think?!

I also wrote everyone’s names on acrylic drink stirrers and added a pink heart-shaped straw to each glass. Monogrammed cards, I watercolored myself, and an “Emergency Bag of Sparkle” from @laurenglassdesigns were on everyone’s plates.

I added more acrylic elements with fun little sayings, such as "You're really pretty" and "It's giving girly." These fun touches are an easy way to add a subtle detail to a table!

Lastly, I added some disco balls (because, duh), and my favorite touch might be the custom confetti designed by @bashboutique_party. I told her the vibe I was going for, and she brought it to life in confetti form!

For favors, I wanted my guests to feel special and leave feeling like they attended a fun, girly event for all of us and not just for me as the birthday girl. I tied tulle ribbon to mini handheld mirrors (heart-shaped - love!), and everyone left with a custom bouquet they got to make themselves. I've been wanting to do a DIY flower cart situation, and this felt like the perfect time to do that. The details were noticed and made me happy to share.

I made a giant pink bow for a backdrop situation on my mantle. Can you believe that the bow is just two Dollar Tree vinyl tablecloths?! I saw the tutorial from @ambusheedwithboys and knew I had to try it. It was the perfect girly touch.

We had to move everything indoors due to the wind, but it was the sweetest, girliest day!
