Party Recap

My book club was reading the Harry Potter series, the 7th book was coming out that year - so I decided to plan a Harry Potter themed Halloween Party. I had a lot of fun putting together all the small details, as I transformed my living room into the Gryffindor Common Room. The notice board as -you walk in - took a bit of creativity and knowledge of the books, and I'm not even sure if anyone noticed them but those that did were in for a treat! Also replacing all of the pictures on my mantle was fun, especially when I noticed someone doing a double-take.

Party Highlights

  • Funniest Moment

When everyone discovered my Monster Book of Monster's cover, one of the girl's jumped a mile high - she thought it was an animal. LOL!

  • Best Dressed

I'm not even voting for myself here, one of the girl's came dressed as Dobby - pillowcase, hats, gloves, and about 50 pairs of socks. It was hilarious.

  • Party Favors

I made S.P.E.W. pins/badges for everyone to wear.

  • Activities / Games

We played Harry Potter Scene It

  • Budget

Since we were all pitching in on the food, I spent most of my budget ($150) on the decorations, drinks, and paper goods. We had Harry Potter themed plates, napkins, invitations, and goody bags.

Everyone brought a dish to share.
