Party Recap

After such a non-traditional birth announcement for Jackson I wanted to do something somewhat traditional for his baptism and also to make my mother happy :) I fell in love with these plates that I found on Shop Sweet Lulu and wanted to design the entire even around them. I started with the invitations. I've been on an orange kick lately so I wanted to incorporate that color.

I made a banner from twine from the Twinery and some fabrics and unpainted wood craft letters from Hobby Lobby.

I've been seeing a lot of ruffle edge cakes lately and loved them. Allyson from Aly B's Bakery here in Shreveport created this wonderful lemon cake based on the invitation and the ruffle edge that I wanted.

I wrapped the wooden flatware I purchased from Shop Sweet Lulu with orange polka dot ribbon and more Twinery twine.

The menu consisted of shrimp pasta, deviled eggs, fruit and cheese, marinated veggies, party meatballs, roll, water and lemonade and of course the yummy cake and cupcakes.

I wanted a floral centerpiece but I also wanted the cake in the middle. So to solve the problem I hung the flowers from twine and mason jars from my chandelier. It was perfect!

The day was great and it was so much fun to celebrate this special time with our friends and family.
