Party Recap

As many Italian-Americans can attest, myself included, making homemade pasta for Christmas Eve is a very big tradition. This year I decided to have a little fun and create something special for my family to enjoy while we made our holiday cavatelli...a pasta theme dessert buffet!

It started with the adorable buffet signs and banner created by Nicola of The Tiny Tiara Party Shop on Etsy. She had created these printables for a pizza party so I suggested a slight modification from a chef to a piece of bow tie pasta and I was off.

The checkerboard fabric was an easy find at Joanne’s as was the foam core boards from Hobby Lobby for the backdrop. The chefs hats (fluffed up with tissue paper inside) were also from Hobby Lobby. The pasta bibs were one of my Mother’s estate sale finds that had been packed away for many years. I created the cupcake toppers with digital scrapbook paper purchased from Maree Truelove on Etsy then attached real pasta with a glue gun the same as I did with the ribbon garland. The faux cavatelli was shaped from taffy and the faux egg and flour was created from fondant and powder sugar. The rolling pin was from the dollar section of Target purchased several months ago.

This creation was a special one for me because it was filled with lots of love and a wonderful tradition for mi famiglia!
