“Argh! remember! where there is a sea there are pirates” I created this “Pirate Adventure for my 4 yr old nephew – The locked treasure Chest was out on display on the front yard with a pile of sand with coins, jewels a pirate skeleton… The challenge here is tto find the Treasure Chest Key. Since it’s a Master lock, I had the master and 12 keys that look right, but did not open the lock. I also thought it might be fine to assemble the crew and test the old children s knowledge on what the ranks are on a pirate ship and explain them so the 7 kids can decide, vote, what have you on who will be the Captain , quartermaster, etc etc... Then once we're assigned the rank..I'll get them in the spirit by yelling A Pirates Life – Assembling the Captain & Crew Captain , Quartermaster, First Mate, Boatswain, Cabin Boy, Gunner, Pilot, Sea Artist Let the Adventure Begin! Tortuga’s Wharf - starting Point of the Pirate Adventure! First Clue Card on the Scene at the Wharf : For hundreds of years pirates and would be respectable citizens have lusted for the lost treasure chest key of that infamous pirate, Bartholomew "Black Bart" Roberts. A recent discovery of Captain Bart’s Lost Log Book - filed with cryptic clues leading to the Treasure has caused a lot of excitement. You have been chosen for this quest – see if you can unravel the cryptic clues leading to the keys location guided with this book. The Captain was a man ahead of his time in many ways and not all clues are as simple as they first appear. **I left the log book on a small table at the “wharf” with a long feathered pen , old map scrolls, an antiqute candle holder and assorted nautical maps of this and that. First Page of the log book If you’re reading this book you’re on the path, To findin’ me hidden treasure chest key at last! I hid it near here many long years ago, When without my booty I had to go The British, they chased me, never cutting me slack, But the treasure I robbed they’ll never get back It’s yours for the taking, no doubt about that! But to find it you’ll be needing my treasure map. The map also is hidden near here.. If you follow the clues it soon will appear…. Inserted after page 1 of the Log book will be an envelope for clue #1 Clue #1 This box is mostly filled with things that rarely bring you glee Like bills, and junk, and other stuff you'd rather never see…….. **This should lead the crew to the Mailbox….. With the Map will be clue #2 and the outside of that envelope will read : You’ve found clue number one, you’re proving quite clever ! But you’ll need clue #2 if you’re looking for treasure …….. Clue #2 9th September 1706 Arrived the Island Mid-morning. Taking 15 Crewmen to hide my treasure. Tortuga Thomas complained the entire way about carrying my crate of unusual cannon balls. *****************Cannon ball Clue for popping cannonball game********************* **Baby Turtles fall out of the popped balloons along with$1.00 coins and the next clue Clue#3 14th September 1706 There be no Rum, till the job is done! - This buried treasure lies beneath the sand, where the oasis and dunes narrow within the land, Payment required for the next trial they’ll be… Be cautious, be careful while you journey to Turtle Sea The next clue so I’m told -hides along side the pirate gold So if it be treasure that’s on your mind, Look around and you will find….. **Kids sift for coins and a clue in turtle sea…(baby wading pool).. Clue # 4 He seemed to know the harbor -So leisurely he swam He swam all night, and he swam all day…. He swam around looking for his prey The Map should lead them to Shark Shoals – (Croquet on lawn ) SHARK SHOALS ! Ahoy Matey’s! Croquet is not your childhood game of skinny little wickets, It takes finesse and strategy to go ahead and stick it, Through the hoop and hit again, and then hopefully roquet, The Prize involved will definitely help you get on your way! **The Prize for completing this game is the compass Once they have all navigated their colored ball through the wickets, the last hit will be through a cardboard cut out of the sharks mouth. The prize given is a compass. You’ve got a compass, To show left and right And a shovel to dig with when you find the site You’ve got your cutlass to fight off the foe But how will you find where you’re supposed to go? ** Place large picture of a compass rose on driveway for starting point. At this point – I am going to make each kid follow compass coordinates to find a key. None of the keys will work to unlock the treasure, but 1 key will work on the small treasure box …. Shipwrecked we are, once a proud crew, Evening finds us, stranded and few; Victory was ours, but now has its cost, Even so, we must count the lost. Now we see, only several have survived, To think our crew, at thirty arrived, Everyone at rest, we must ask you, Engage in the counting, how many are the few? Now I have given the clue, it's all up to you. Hint Did I mention, That you take attention, To the word I say, Concerning the survivors that day? With the Real Key hanging on the correct # Flag with the following Note : Be the first back to the treasure - This is where this hunt did begin If you're the first you'll hear the words, "Congrats, to you... YOU WIN!" **Card inside the treasure chest So, thank you for sharing these great gifts inside; The caring, the sharing, the booty fairly divided - Thanks for the energy, encouragement too. And thank you for sharing the treasures in you.
