Party Recap

For months I've planned my daughter's Candyland party... she's even helped me plan it! Matter of fact the "Candyland" theme was 100% her idea (she loves the board game). I wanted this party to be so special for her because I remember my 5th birthday and what a "BIG" girl I felt I would be after that day...

Allure birthday is in February and each year the weather is a toss up here in Florida ... we never know if the weather is going to be hot, mild, or cold... this year it chose to be cold (and extremely windy). The weather played a big factor in her party because we were planning for an outside party at a local park...unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel the party and move it to our home.

I DID NOT have a plan "B", (I almost wanted to cancel the party) but the "mom" in me could not stand to see my baby girl in tears so I quickly pulled myself out of my rut and decided to make the best of my situation.

We did our best to bring "Candyland" to our home ... the kids really enjoyed themselves and at the end of the day that's all that mattered to me - we all had a blast and it was great celebrating this milestone birthday with our closest family and friends.

  • Best Moment

I believe the best moment happened a few hours prior to the party when I was home alone and had only 3 hours to decorate Allure's party and sat on the couch and thought to myself, "I can't do this"... and Allure then ran into the front room with me smiling and grabbing her tutu and said, "Mommy, I love you ... I can't wait until "we" decorate for my pretty Candyland Party". At that moment, I found the energy to accomplish everything I needed to accomplish in those short hours : )

  • Funniest Moment

When the children were playing "Twister"... it was a load of fun to watch them twist their little bodies in the most awkward positions.

  • Most Touching Moment

When the Birthday Girl blew out her candle... I made a wish for her...

    The Birthday Girl (of course)!
