Party Recap

Our family and friends celebrated our precious Scarlett's first birthday with a Wizard of Oz theme. The decor and favors were completely DIY (lots of late nights) but with some help from Scarlett's aunties and even her big sister Sophia! I came across this very cool and "vintagey" card stock and used it where ever I could including garland, cupcake toppers and favor tags. I also hand stamped treat and loot bags with some cute Wizard of Oz stamps I found on line. I really wanted to emphasize all things ruby red and used beautiful red poppies throughout the decorations. The birthday girl wore a vintage 1950s blue gingham dress I scored from a shop on ETSY and a red poppy head piece I made last minute the night before. This party was sooo much fun to plan and prepare for. Our guests complained of tummy aches from the abundance of sweets and candy. They enjoyed a rainbow candy bar, ding dongs, cake pops, cracker jacks, cupcakes, sugar cookies, hand pies and of course a six layer rainbow cake! At dusk we enjoyed a viewing of the classic movie Wizard of Oz played on the side of our garage. Even though 1st birthdays are more for families than the babies I trully hope one day little Scarlett will see her party pictures and realize this was her special day!
