Shadow The Hedgehog Birthday Party
ByParty Recap
My kids always seem to hone in on a specific character from their favorite show that they want to build their birthday around - this time it was Shadow from Sonic The Hedgehog! I loved working with these colors and felt it was very appropriate for an 8 year old without feeling too mature.
Given we are in quarantine, we celebrated as a family of four, but that didn't stop me from styling this event like it was for a party of 40!! A backdrop complete with a yellow balloon ring, metallic red plates and straw toppers, a Shadow centerpiece and Shadow topper were all highlights of what my son deemed - the best birthday yet!

How did you make the balloon wreath? It’s beautiful

Hi! Thank you so much! I actually used a dollar store kid hula hoop and wrapped pairs of 5" balloons around. Then used hot glue to fill in the gaps! I hope you give it a try!!

Omg this is super cute, how did you get the Sonic to put in the middle?

Thank you so much! I actually printed off a 20x30 image and glued it to a 20x30 foam board. Then I used a craft knife to cut out the image. I used hot glue to attach it to the balloon ring. I hope that helps!!

This is beautiful. My soon to be 4 year old is asking for Shadow theme decorations. I am having such a hard time finding anything. I was hoping you could share the links to the toppers and banner, please. Thank you in advance.

Where did you get the happy birthday banner from or is it diy?
Ashley D wrote:
Hi! It is a DIY, but I'm working on creating a printable party package set for my Etsy shop (Hudson Grey Events)! I should have something in the next couple weeks.

Hi, What lengths did you get for the ribbon curtains? Did you purchase them online?
Ashley D wrote:
Hi Nadine, I just purchased standard foil fringe in both colors and layered. Then I cut the red at an angle. I hope that helps!
