Party Recap

My little guy is obsessed with dinosaurs! That made choosing his theme a no brainer. He loves to color and wanted to do a dinosaur egg hunt and dig for dinosaur bones, so we incorporated those activities into his party.

We held his party in the backyard so I put up a "Stomp this way" sign and painted dinosaur tracks on the ground leading to the back yard. The guest went though an arch with vines to transport themselves into Dinoland - Home of the Vanceosaurus. On the entry table we had a sign asking the guests what their dinosaur name was with name tags they could fill in (Rawr I'm a ______saurus).

The kids colored dinosaur pictures while we waited for all the guests to arrive. I loved how the crayon boxes turned out with the year the Vanceosaurus was discovered being the year he was born!

After the kids colored their pictures they got to feed the Vanceosaurus (because were a little rebellious around here, the sign said not to feed him. :)), dug for dinosaur bones and then did a dinosaur egg hunt (like an Easter egg hunt).

We had signs set up in the yard where the kids did the dinosaur egg hunt (Ankylosaurus Zone, T-Rex Crossing, Pterodactyls Overhead, Stegosaurus Ahead, etc) and even had a Pteranodon nest with eggs starting to hatch!

On the dessert table we had a cute dinosaur cake with matching sugar cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows and crispy rice squares drizzled with chocolate. My little guy only wanted cake and was kind enough to let me put other treats on "his" table. :) He insisted on balloons and "pompoms" so we used those, along with dinosaur footprints for his back drop.
