Party Recap
Theme – A Seussical Adventure (To celebrate my son’s 5th birthday)
I have seen many Dr Suess themes, and the challenge for me was to choose a colour palate that represented Dr Suess loudly, but tastefully! I went with pale blue, red, royal blue, lemon, and white.
The cake design was initially inspired by a cake titled Homage to Dr Suess by Colette Peters. I was inspired by her freedom of pattern and over all fun. I applied this feeling to my own colour palette and cake, and topped the three-tiered design off with the offical 'hat' from the 'cat' - how could you not!
Decorations – I made my own bunting, and worked hard to make the dessert table our ‘wow’ factor!
DIY Projects
All of the printables for cupcake toppers, chocolate label, dessert table labels
I also made the Cheese Tree from branches I collected cut down to size
I also made the bunting using a Martha Stewart template for party flags
I made medals from the cupcake toppers for the games as well, complete with little pins to go onto the children
