Party Recap

THEME
We took the usual black and orange Halloween color palette and added purple and lime green. Black lace and a black and white hound’s tooth pattern were added for a girly touch.

DECORATIONS
Guests were greeted by a “Trick or Treat” pumpkin man display which incorporated all the colors of the party. Tables were covered with orange table covers topped with black “creepy cloth”. Mason jars wrapped in black lace were used as vases and filled with purple celosia and orange chrysanthemums which served as centerpieces on the guest tables as well as accents on the s’mores bar. Various sized pumpkins were painted white and covered with black lace. Black creepy cloth and a custom happy birthday banner which incorporated all of the colors and patterns chosen for the party hung against a wall over the s’mores dessert table. Black and white hound’s tooth and purple paper fans were used to accent the dessert table as well. On the food table, purple plasticware were rolled up in orange napkins and tied with black lace to add a girly touch. A smiling jack-o-lantern punch bowl was used to hold the hound’s tooth goodie bags filled with Halloween treats for the guests. A jack-o-lantern drink tub was used to hold mini bottles of water.

FOOD/DRINKS
Food: Party guests were served sand-“witches” (sandwiches) with “Crypts & Dip” (chips and dip). Witch leg party picks were put in each ham and provolone sandwich. Black cardstock coffins were used as mini bowls for the chips and dip cups. R.I.P. tombstone party picks were taped to the coffin boxes with washi tape.
Drinks: A yummy green punch was served as well as mini bottled water with custom bottle labels in the party’s colors and patterns.

FAVORS
Instead of a cake, orange iced cupcakes were placed in individual cupcake boxes for each guest. The birthday girl was given her own little cupcake to smash (or should we say destroy rather). A s’mores buffet was set up for party guests to make their own s’mores. Instead of classic marshmallows, ghost and pumpkin Halloween Peeps were used for roasting. Sterno cans were wrapped in hound’s tooth patterned paper for a decorative touch. Hound’s tooth goodie bags were filled with Halloween treats for guests to grab on the way out. Guests also got a crack at the jack-o-lantern piñata filled with candy, which was the highlight of the party.
