Party Recap

We had a Star Wars Lego adventure for my son's 6th birthday. This was an incredibly fun party to theme and create!

Unfortunately, we had horrid weather the day of the party so I was changing things and shortcutting activities on the fly. The kids would have loved to have spent ages playing with the equipment but the weather had other plans! Luckily, the kids really didn't notice! They had a ball! And the dads got a good kick out of the party too!

For the Jedi cloak, I just bought a cheap fleece throw from Kmart and folded it in half lengthways and cut a width roughly the same width as a kid's chest. On the folded edge I cut a head hole. that easy! No sewing! And I just cut a strip of brown material for a belt. The robe was made from a princess cape (maybe even red riding hood?) pattern that my friend found online. It's basically a semi circle for the bottom bit and a trapezoid shape sewed along two edges and then attached to the other piece with a button at the neck. I'm sorry I don't know the link she used to be more specific. I didn't waste time trying to make nice finishes - it was more about the look and the kids loved it!

I made the robes. They would have cost no more than $2 ea. I just bought the cheapest fabric I could find and didn't bother with hemming - I just sewed the edges that held it together.

I love the printables you used in the gift bags. Where did you get the printables specifically for the Droid Chips and Wookie Cookies? Did you use a vendor or create them yourself? I'd love to use these for my son's 5th Birthday Party. Thanks!

I found free printables online I believe and then I just adjusted them in Photoshop to fit my needs. I did it all myself :)
