Party Highlights

  • Desserts

Dessert Bar: cupcakes, cookies, dipped strawberries, brownies. - Candy Bar: Too many to mention.

  • Party Favors

Giant rainbow swirled lollipops with custom label.

  • Activities / Games

    - Don't Say Baby: You couldn't say the word baby or the baby's name, or you would lose your "caterpillar" pin. The person with the most pins won a dinner & a movie package. - Baby Bingo: as the parent's opened the gifts, the guests stamped the cards when that gift was opened until they formed a line. Winner received movie tickets. - Diaper Raffle: Guests were encouraged to bring a package of diaper or wipes to be entered into a raffle. They were enticed to participate with the opportunity to win GREAT prizes like a Macy's gift card and Cirque du Soleil tickets. - Guess the Baby Food: Numbered baby food jars (with labels removed) were passed around and guests had to guess what the flavors were. The person who guessed all five correcty, recieved a gift card. - Word Search: Found a baby word search that kept them busy for a while. Winner received a gift card.

  • What People Ate

    - Main dish: Taco and quesadilla bar. With 100 guests at different age groups with various food preferences & allergies, this was the easiest & cheapest option. - Dessert Bar: cupcakes, cookies, dipped strawberries, brownies. - Sides: Fruit, cheese platter, garden salad - Candy Bar: Too many to mention.

Where did you get the banners made? I'm looking to do something like that for behind the table at my sons 1st bday party. TIA.

Hi! I created the artwork for the banners myself and then had a local printer produce them with grommet holes for hanging. I will be happy to share the artwork with you, if you like :)

That would be awesome if you could do that. So do I just call around to find a printer who can make it into a banner?

Yes, that's what I did. To keep the banners from swinging and knocking things off the table, you can use removable adhesive strips (like Command) to stick the banner to the table/tablecloth. Here is the artwork: http://bit.ly/XOUlIq. Good luck with your party! :)

Hi! I am also doing a VHC party for my son's 1st birthday. I love your theme so much! How did you make the "cherry pie" cupcakes? Also, is that ice cream in the cones or did you use something else to get the same look?

Hi, Stephanie! I wish I could take credit for these desserts but they were actually made by my sister's BFFs. This is what they shared with me: The cherry cupcakes are actually chocolate cupcakes with the tops flattened. Canned cherry pie filling and a few cherries are on top and buttercream was used for the "pie crust" and the hatch pattern. The "ice cream" is actually a cupcake that was baked with the bater in the cone. Once cooled they were topped with a large scoop of pink buttercream to look like ice cream. They had a little "magic shell" type topping drizzled on top (do not recommen - waste of time), and then were sprinkled with multi-colored jimmies and topped with a red m&m to look like a cherry. Hope all this helps and best of luck with your party! :)
