Party Recap...
Oh, how I believe now that time actually does fly because my little man and first child has turned 9 years old. Of course, we had to celebrate with his favorites: Outdoors + favorite movie + candy & popcorn = Outdoor Movie Night Birthday Party. It was a blast! His favorite movie choice for the party was Karate Kid 2010 - very inspiring.

Party Highlights
Best Moment
I loved the great outdoors "photo booth" photo shoot taken as the party friends arrived. The children were cracking me up with their poses.
What People Ate
A movie party = popcorn and candy. We had alot of it! The flavors of popcorn included buttered, caramel, and "kung fu" popcorn which is buttered popcorn with a kick of m&ms. We also ate chocolate covered fortune cookies - a party guest favorite! This was a late after dinner party, so we didn't serve dinner food.
What People Drank
The kids loved the bottled sodas with their own personalized striped straws.
Dessert
Popcorn cake! My husband and I love to make our children's cakes every year, so we took inspiration from Bakerella's popcorn brownies and went to work.
Activities / Games
We played the Great Popcorn Eating Race with chopsticks. Since this was a Karate Kid movie party, I had the children use chopsticks to pick up the popcorn. Each child was given the same amount of popcorn pieces and they had to eat the most popcorn the fastest to win. (pieces that didn't make it in the mouth didn't count!) They got a huge kick out of this game, so we played a few times. Prizes were given to the winners.
Party Favors
Guests took home their movie party favors in popcorn bags. A favor favorite were the glow sticks and necklaces.
