Party Recap

To celebrate our littlest ladybug turning 1 we threw her a Ladybug Picnic.

Idea

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

Our three girls in their coordinating outfits

  • Desserts

Ladybug cake & cupcakes, chocolate dipped Oreo cookies, chocolate dipped rice krispie treats

  • Activities / Games

The kids were all given cute red nets wit long bamboo handles and they played "catch the bug" with bubbles. This kept them busy for a really long time!

  • Budget

$250 - I did basically everything myself, some of the food was catered.

  • Party Favors

Live ladybugs in a little bug collection locket, a ladybug ice pack (for boo boos!), a ladybug paint set and a ladybug wash mitt

  • Best Moment

It was a one year old birthday party, so the best moment was watching our little girl dig into her cake! She made a complete mess!

  • What People Ate

Turkey, Ham and Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Italian Pasta Salad, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Pita Chips, a Veggie Tray, a Fruit Tray and for the kids, Cheeseballs of course!

  • What People Drank

Ladybug Punch, Assorted Fruit Juices and Water from personalized water bottles

  • Most Touching Moment

Singing "Happy Birthday" to our little girl

  • Funniest Moment

Getting the kids to lay down on the ladybug wings chalk drawing - they weren't quite sure what to make of it.

  • Sarabeth's First Birthday: A Ladybug Picnic

We celebrated our little Sarabeth's birthday with a ladybug picnic theme. After having three girls, I wanted to do something other than "pink all over" but it still managed to creep in here and there!

It's a petti romper I bought off eBay believe it or not! Here's the seller: http://myworld.ebay.com/boutiqueitems/. I didn't see where she had these anymore, but maybe if you contact her. She did have some cute leg warmers and a ruffled diaper cover in the ladybug dots. Good luck with your party!

Oh, and I made the hat. Just used fabric from Hobby Lobby and some spray adhesive to stick it to a hat from the $1 store. Hot glued the feathers on, easy!

The containers came from the $ section at Target, the live ladybugs from a local plant nursery. They were a HUGE hits with the kids and the parents!

Stephanie, I made them with scrapbook paper, hats from the Dollar Tree and spray glue. The ladybugs were cut out with my Silhouette machine. They were easy to make!
