Actually I used royal icing, and worked bottom to top. With such little kids around, I didn't want to risk toothpicks. I have a tutorial on my blog, if you're interested. The link is in my profile.

I love this! Love it! Was this just with toothpicks? Would you recommend working bottom to top?
